After the sanzen the Roshi returns to the Zendo.

When he sits down:

1 inkin bell – 2 clappers (taku) Wait a moment:

1 inkin bell

Then the following things happen at the same time:

  1. Jikijitsu stands up to light a candle and incense stick. He puts out the mat.

  2. HAN

  3. Jisha brings water to the altar at the end of HAN.
